►Member of the Board of Directors of the largest student society in Canada with over $20 million operating budget ►Successfully lobbied the university to reinstate International Service Learning (ISL) as a program, 5 months after the program was cancelled ►Successfully lobbied the university to exclude MA Economics program from the list of tuition increases proposed by the university while limiting increases for the Bachelor of International Economics and Bachelor of Arts ►Chaired the Executive Oversight Committee ►Member of the AMS/GSS Health & Dental Governance Committee and successfully lead an initiative that ensures the financial stability of the $10 million Health & Dental Plan with 38,000 subscribers for decades to come.
►As a paid Undergraduate Research Fellow, I worked with Michael Peters, a top Microeconomist in Canada in 2 major research projects ►Analyzed over 116,000 applications for academic positions for PhD Economists ►Using R, MySQL, and Python, created and performed data cleaning algorithms ►Utilized existing algorithms, as well as self-built crawlers and added further demographic information to the data ►Devised Econometric models and tests to examine correlations as well as causalities between factors that make an applicant "successful"
►A Co-op placement and became the first Economics student to work at UBC IT ►Worked as an Internal Student Consultant for UBC IT ►Led a Revenue Model project to help UBC IT better understand its multi-million revenue streams ►Created 2 Financial templates used by the organization to reconcile cost, forecast revenue. ►Produced many high quality data reports using raw survey and service ticket data collected by UBC IT ►Worked closely with the CIO and other Senior leaders to assist the transformation of UBC IT to a Service-oriented organization (As opposed to Product-oriented organization)
►Member of the founding team of Equaldex, a collaborative database on issues surrounding LGBTQ+ individuals
►Manage and track almost 2000 laws across the world, personally responsible for researching 20% of them ►Involved in making strategic decisions for the site ►The data is used by organizations such as the UN, World Economic Forum, and others to produce their own analytics |
